Dr. Gayathri Ramasubban completed her PhD on “Molecular Techniques in the Identification of MDR-TB and Diagnosis of Tuberculosis” at L&T Microbiology Research Centre, Vision Research Foundation (VRF), Chennai, India affiliated to BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan, India. She continued to work in VRF as Post Doc and Assistant Professor focusing on whole genome sequencing of M. tuberculosis. She later worked as a Microbiologist under Foundation for Innovative Diagnostics (FIND) at Intermediate Reference Laboratory, Chennai, India and at the Apollo hospitals, Chennai as a Molecular Biologist focusing on detection of molecular markers for solid tumors and myeloid malignancy using NGS. She played a key role in RNTCP certification of Mycobacteriology laboratory for Sankara Nethralaya Referral Laboratory from Government of India. She has to her credit 23 publications and 1 chapter in a book in National and International Journals. She has trained many post graduate students from various institutes in molecular biological techniques. Her main research interest is developing point of care diagnostic tools for the rapid detection of infectious agents.
